The 18th edition of the Archimede Prize, held in the stunning Sala San Leonardo and organized by the Venice City Council, once again proved itself as a key event for board game enthusiasts and professionals. This year’s competition featured 238 prototypes from around the globe, highlighting the creative talent driving the industry forward.
Key highlights of the event included:
- A diverse range of international entries
- Rigorous testing by a jury of industry experts
- An innovative development phase for finalists
- The participation of 20 editors from major global publishing houses
This unique competition format, with a special focus on prototype refinement, impressed both designers and jurors alike. The additional development phase allowed finalists to fine-tune their games, leading to an exceptionally high-quality group of 24 finalists.
This year, we at Creative Jam were proud to participate in the Archimede Prize as jurors. Our Creative Director, Gianluca Torrente, and CEO, Luigi de Luca Cuccia, had the honor of contributing to the evaluation process, alongside some of the biggest names in the board game industry.
The event wasn’t just about competition. Participants were treated to a tour of the Grand Canal in a traditional rowing boat, adding a touch of Venetian charm to the festivities. Thanks to the flawless organization by Studiogiochi, the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable for all involved.
As the Archimede Prize continues to grow in prestige, it remains an essential platform for fostering creativity and innovation in the world of tabletop gaming. This year’s success sets a high standard for future editions, underlining the lasting relevance of board games in our increasingly digital world.
